Management Team
John H. Eley, Chief Executive Officer
John is responsible for the overall management, operation, and strategic direction of the company. A 20-year veteran of the financial services and financial technology industries, John recently has focused on companies that improve market structure or trading efficiency in a variety of asset classes. Beginning in 2002, he served as President and CEO of Hotspot FX, Inc., the leading online foreign exchange marketplace. The company was acquired by Knight Capital Group in 2006. Previously, John was the CFO of OnExchange, a futures industry software provider, and worked in a variety of senior positions with Cantor Fitzgerald/eSpeed and Citibank. John serves as an outside board member and/or advisor to several private companies and is a guest lecturer at the Columbia University School of Business.
Bob Barlow, VP of Operations
Bob is responsible for defining and managing the customer experience at Pivot™. He also manages much of Pivot’s™ operational areas, including IT, project management and Human Resources. A 20-year veteran of the financial services industry, Bob’s experience spans management roles in large, multi-national organizations, as well as small entrepreneurial firms; including 10 years at Fidelity Investments in various senior customer service positions. Bob began his career at Pivot™ managing customer service, and continues to expand his role as the organization grows. He brings a strong customer focus and excellent management skills to the Pivot™ table. Bob earned his master’s degree in Business Administration from Suffolk University.
James Bradley, Chief Technologist
James is responsible for all aspects of engineering including research, development and quality assurance. He has been involved in financial software development for over 20 years. James has worked directly at various financial institutions including RBS/Greenwich Capital, Citigroup/Lava Trading, Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette, and Bear Stearns. Most recently he was at Chicago Trading in the role as Director of Commodities Development. James has worked extensively in the industry as a consultant and has broad experience in developing front and middle office applications in the commodity, capital, and equity markets. He is well known throughout the industry for his ability to focus on strategic workflows and deliver quality solutions. James has a degree in Applied Mathematics and Computing from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Dean Efkarpidis, VP of Finance, Reporting and Analysis
Dean is responsible for financial management and reporting, financial control and tax planning. Prior to joining Pivot™, he was SVP of Finance and Administration at venture-funded Send Word Now (SWN), a software services company and the leading provider of on-demand notification. He joined the founder of Send Word Now in 2003 to develop the organization’s short and long term strategy and to build infrastructure in finance and operations. He helped raise 35M through four rounds of financing. Before SWN he held various senior level finance positions including, Controller of OM Technology (now NASDAQ-OMX), a public software company specializing in privatizing and running financial exchanges and VP of Finance of X-Change Technologies, a public firm that developed an Internet-accessible Alternative Trading System. Dean received a BBA in Accounting from Baruch College and a BA in Liberal Arts from Hunter College. He brings over 14 years of experience and demonstrated success in the financial software industry.
Prashant Kumar, Head of Product
Prashant is responsible for the product roadmap, positioning, go-to-market strategy and delivery. He brings over 15 years of technology and sales experience spanning early stage start ups, investment banks and software vendors. Prashant started his career at CMC Ltd (India) writing equity trading engines and settlement software, being directly involved with implementations at major stock exchanges in India and Bangladesh. He then spent 10 years at Goldman Sachs (New York) building out distribution, compliance and publishing platforms for the Investment Research Business. Prior to joining Pivot, Prashant ran sales at Perpetually, a New York based start-up for commercial web archiving, where he was a part of the founding team. Prashant has a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Bombay.
Andy Nanopoulos, VP of Engineering
As Vice President of Engineering, Andy leads the development and QA engineering teams in creating the Pivot 360 multi-network instant messaging client and server platforms, designed and optimized exclusively for the needs of the financial industry. His over 20 years of software industry experience includes architecting and leading the development of a super computer operating system at Thinking Machines, software authentication security tokens and servers at RSA Security, and mobile applications for the iPhone and Android-based phones. Andy is an advocate of utilizing Agile processes to produce high quality, mission-critical applications. Andy currently has one patent (8,065,373) and one patent pending.
Steve Reich, Managing Director Business Development and Product Development
Previously, he was CEO of FX Bridge Technologies, a technology dedicated to bringing electronic currency options trading to the retail marketplace. Mr. Reich was a co-founder and chief operating officer of Hotspot FX, Inc., an online Forex marketplace for both institutional and retail clients. Hotspot FX, Inc. was sold in 2006 to Knight Capital for $90 million. Mr. Reich has extensive trading experience with Barclays Capital, HSBC Markets, and Credit Suisse, as well as a deep knowledge of electronic marketplaces. Mr. Reich holds a degree in applied economics from Cornell University.
